While I still don' t have time to blog about fashion, I will just blog about food for now.
It was a payday, and my friend Oyet, ordered cupcakes and cookies from me, so we met. And knowing him, a food lover like me, we decided to eat something different. And decided to eat at Yabu, a restaurant that serves katsu' s as their specialty.
Katsu' s are not that different these days, most of the Japanese restaurants here in the Philippines offers them, but this restaurant serves katsu' s in a different and special way.
The restaurant is cozy with manga pages of I think
a manga about pork tonkatsu as their decoration.
Each table is complete with condiments to enjoy your meal more.
While waiting for our meals, they handed us out our drinks
and these small bowls with roasted black and white sesame seeds
and a wooden pestle.
Oyet told me to smash the sesame seeds with the pestle, so I did.
I tried to smell them afterwards, and they smell so good,
this will be used to make the dipping sauce for the katsu.
Enjoy much sa pagggrind haha parang naglulutu-lutuan.
After grinding the sesame seeds, the sauce on the condiments side
is poured to the sesame seeds, and mixed.
This will be the dipping sauce. I tasted it, and it tasted yummy.
Our orders came and Oyet got his Rosu - Pork Loin Katsu Set
its 3/4 inch thick juicy pork cutlet with trimmings of fat.
It is served with miso soup, fruits and unli cabbage and rice.
It really feels good to eat something special after work.
Tignan mo, ang haggard ng peg ko,
pero happy na uli nung naserv-an ng masarap na pagkain.
This is what I ordered, Hire Special Katsudon.
Also served with miso soup, fruits and unli cabbage and rice.
Their cabbage side tastes so good, you can almost make it a substitute for the rice. It is fresh and the sauce that you will use with this tastes yummy.
And yes, its unlimited, so you can eat all the cabbages you want.
The miso soup tasted more real than the miso soup in a usual Japanese fastfood.
I' m not much of a fan of fruits,
but I enjoyed eating these after eating our meal.
They really made an effort to slice them in shapes.
Yes, it looks and tastes yummy. I ordered a loin katsu with lean meat.
This rosu katsu is served with egg, seaweed strips, dried pork strips
(tastes like super super thin bacon), and I don't know the white one,
just try it for your self haha!
The rice is sticky Japanese, so you won' t have a hard time eating it
with chopsticks. Though they serve unli rice, they are so heavy
in the stomach so you won' t be eating much of them.
Unless you' re the unli rice type of person.
To know their menu and locations,
More posts to come, so stay tuned! :)
